FIRST Robotics Regional Competition
March 21
FreeFIRST® Idaho Robotics invites kids and families to come watch this exciting game and take a walk through the pits to see up close the many creative solutions students have come up with for this year’s challenge. The event is free and open to the public.
The FIRST® Idaho FRC Regional Competition is set to take place from March 21-23, 2024 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, ID. The competition will feature 40 teams of high-school students, engineers, and technical mentors from 6 states, Canada, and Mexico. These teams will showcase their hard work after an intense 10 weeks of designing, building, and programming an original robot.
Hundreds of students will compete at the FIRST® Idaho FRC Regional to earn a spot at the international FIRST® Championship to be held April 17-20 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
The FIRST® Robotics competition is the ultimate sport for the mind, promoting gracious professionalism and cooperation. Competition may be fierce, but teams show great sportsmanship by teaching and learning from each other. Collaborating with each other one match and competing against each other the next makes team member’s gracious attitudes a win-win. FIRST® Robotics Competition is as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. It’s a sport where all participants may choose to become a professional.
This year’s challenge, CRESCENDO presented by Haas, invites two competing alliances to score notes, amplify the speaker, harmonize onstage, and take the spotlight before time runs out. At the end of the game, robots race to get onstage by climbing a chain and delivering notes to their traps. Harmonizing robots, i.e. robots sharing a chain, earn an added bonus. The alliance that earns the most points wins the match!
