Event Navigation
Rock lovers and nature nerds are encouraged to join ICL staff member Josh Johnson for a beautiful day hike up the North Fork of Hyndman Creek in the Pioneer Mountains. In addition to the stunning views, participants will learn about the fascinating geology of the Pioneers and how it connects to ICL’s public lands work. Josh has a master’s degree in geology and several years’ experience as an interpretive guide.
This is a moderately difficult hike that is approximately 6.5 miles round trip in length with 1,300 feet of elevation gain. Please consider the difficulty of the hike before registering. Bring sturdy boots, rain gear and warm layers.
We will meet at ICL’s Ketchum office on Saturday, September 7 at 9 a.m. to carpool to the trailhead. If you plan to attend this hike, be sure to bring the following:
