Priest Lake — Be Bear Aware

ICL is teaming up with Brian Johnson, Idaho Department of Fish and Game grizzly bear information and education conservation officer, Brett Lyndaker, Idaho Panhandle National Forests wildlife biologist, and the Yellowstone to Yukon Initiative to teach local residents about recreating in bear country. Topics covered will include:
- A brief overview of the status of local grizzly bear populations
- Identification of grizzly bears and black bears
- Conflict avoidance techniques
- Requirements for the storage of food and other attractants on national forest lands
The presentation will be followed by a practical session where participants will learn to deploy bear spray using inert spray canisters.
Registration is free, but pre-registration is REQUIRED as space is limited! To pre-register, please sign-up here!
Registration includes presentation, instruction and an inert bear spray practice canister. Participants will also be eligible to purchase Counter Assault bear spray at a discount.
